Who we are ?

NSS (National Service Scheme) programme is organised by the students of IIT Hyderabad themselves, and both students and teachers through their combined participation in community service, get involved in the tasks of nation building. It is a two semester voluntary service where students will develop their personality through social service. NSS at IIT Hyderabad is aimed at providing each student with a significant context in which he/she can reach a deeper understanding of social reality in India today. NSS encourages the meaning of the life through service in the realm of today's changing world.

What we do ?

Our Mission ...
By the spirit of selfless service, NSS volunteers try to cater the society in best possible manner and hence arrive at a set of values integral to the Indian philosophy of life. NSS stipulates that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need of selfless service and appreciation of the other man's effort and also respect for fellow human beings, environment and wildlife.
Our camps are held in nearby villages where attempts are made to improve educational conditions for the school students. Activities like Educational drives, Cleaniness Campaigns and Environment Awareness drives are actively taken up by NSS volunteers.

What we believe ?

The motto or watchword of the National Service Scheme is 'NOT ME BUT YOU' . This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person's point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole. Therefore, it should be the aim of the NSS to demonstrate this motto in its day-to-day programme.About GATE

It is an initiative started with a vision to educate all the rural people, believing it would brighten their lives. As quoted by William Butler Yeats, "Education is not filling the bucket, but lighting the fire". We want to light that fire among the students and help them progress in their lives.

We have come up with innovative ways to educate and teach children. We have opted the digitalised method of teaching using the available technology in teaching. It helps the students to understand the concepts better thereby making them.
